Have a Heart Day

Across DSB1, students and staff learn about and honour Have a Heart Day.

At New Liskeard Public School, students in Grade 3 learned about the importance of First Nations children having the opportunity to grow up safely at home, to get a good education, to be healthy, and to be proud of who they are. Students learned about Shannen Koostachin of Attawapiskat First Nation and her dream that all First Nations children and youth have the same education opportunities as others and is respectful of their language and culture.

Students attending Diamond Jubilee Public School and Kapuskasing District High School demonstrate their solidarity through a collaborative display using postcards.
